The bangladesh university of professionals (bup) is a public university in dhaka, bangladesh. It was established in 2008 by the government of bangladesh. Bup is run by the armed forces and is known for its internal discipline and zero-tolerance policy for student politics. 

Objectives: 

  • Promote knowledge in science, technology, business, medicine, social science, strategy, and security
  • Promote leadership and civil-military relationships
  • Develop intellectual and practical expertise

ADMISSION & ELIGIBILITY


Admission eligibility for bangladesh university of professionals (bup) depends on the program and the candidate's academic record. 

General eligibility

  • Candidates must pass the ssc/equivalent and hsc/equivalent examinations 
  • Candidates must not have a third division or equivalent in any of the ssc and hsc examinations 
  • Candidates from the international baccalaureate (ib) must pass a minimum of six subjects with a minimum of 30 points 

Program-specific eligibility

  • Ba (hons) in english: candidates must obtain a total gpa of 8.00–9.00 in the ssc/equivalent and hsc/equivalent examinations 
  • Bachelor of science in computer science and engineering: candidates must obtain a total gpa of 9.50 in the ssc/equivalent and hsc/equivalent examinations 
  • Mbbs: candidates must pass the ielts or toefl exams 

Admission process 

  • Candidates must take an admission test, which is usually a multiple-choice question (mcq) test
  • The admission test results are combined with the ssc/equivalent and hsc/equivalent results to calculate the candidate's admission score
  • The admission test results are used to determine the candidate's eligibility for admission
