The university of pécs (pte) is hungary's oldest university, founded in 1367 by king louis the great. It's located in the city of pécs, in the southwest of hungary.

History:

The university was the first in hungary and the fourth in central europe.
It was dissolved and reopened several times over the centuries.
The current university was formed in 2000 when the faculty of medicine merged with janus pannonius university.

ADMISSION & ELIGIBILITY

Admission eligibility for the University of Pécs in Hungary depends on the program you apply for.

FEE STRUCTURE

Ba psychology: $6,735 per year for a 3-year program
Bsc business administration & management: $8,128 per year for a 3.5-year program
Bsc civil engineering: $6,800 per year for a 4-year program
Bsc computer science: $5,806 per year for a 3-year program
Medicine: $16,750 per year for a 6-year program
Dentistry: $17,350 per year for a 5-year program
Pharmacy: $8,400 per year for a 5-year program

Extra charges

Exam absence fee: charged if a student misses an exam without a medical certificate
Re-registration fee: charged for re-registering for a course that was failed in a previous semester

SCHOLARSHIP

PROVISIONS COVERED BY THE SCHOLARSHIP

Tuition-free education: exemption from the payment of tuition fees.
Monthly stipend:
- non-degree, bachelor, master, and one-tier master level: monthly HUF 43 700 contributions to the living expenses, for 12 months a year, until the completion of studies,
- doctoral level: monthly HUF 140 000 for 12 months a year until the completion of studies.
Accommodation: dormitory placement OR a monthly contribution of HUF 40 000 to accommodation costs for the whole duration of the scholarship period.
Medical insurance: health care services according to the relevant Hungarian legislation (Act No. 80 of 1997, national health insurance card) and supplementary medical insurance for up to HUF 65 000 a year/person

NON-ELIGIBILITY

Applications will not be considered in the following cases:

Hungarian citizens (including those with dual citizenships)
former Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship holders who are re-applying for studies in the same cycle of education (e.g. bachelor, master, doctoral)

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION

To apply to the university of pécs, you typically need to submit the following documents:
