University of nicosia (unic) is a private university based in nicosia, cyprus. It has over 12,000 students enrolled from over 70 countries.

In september 2007, intercollege of nicosia became the university of nicosia, cyprus. it later split from the rest of the university of nicosia.

University of nicosia's campus is greater than 100.000 square meters.

The university houses the largest medical school in the country and offers three different medical programmes: 1) a 6-year undergraduate entry doctor of medicine (md) programme; 2) a 4-year graduate entry doctor of medicine degree (gemd) designed for those holding university degrees in any field; and 3) a 4-year graduate entry bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery (mbbs) british medical degree offered in collaboration with st george's university of london and awarded by the uk general medical council

ADMISSION & ELIGIBILITY


To be eligible for admission to the university of nicosia medical school, you must meet the following requirements:

  • High school: have a high school leaving certificate with a minimum of 90% overall, or equivalent 
  • English language: have a minimum score of 6.5 on the ielts, or equivalent 
  • Standardized test: pass a standardized entrance exam like the mcat, gamsat, or ucat 
  • Bachelor's degree: have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in a related field 
  • Interview: pass an online interview to demonstrate your suitability for the program 
  • Volunteer experience: show that you have an understanding of the biological, psychological, and social aspects of medicine 
  • Reference letter: provide an academic or professional reference letter 

Standardized test scores

  • Mcat: minimum score of 498 
  • Gamsat: minimum score of 55, with at least 50 in all sections 
  • Ucat: minimum overall score of 2500, with at least 500 in each section, and a situational judgment score in bands 1-3

SCHOLARSHIP

The university of nicosia medical school offers scholarships to help students partially fund their studies. These scholarships include: 

  • 10% scholarship: all students applying for fall 2025 will receive a 10% scholarship 
  • Financial need-based scholarship: students can apply for an additional 10% scholarship based on financial need 
  • Phd scholarship: the school offers phd scholarships in fields such as pathology of neurodegenerative diseases 
  • Master of public health scholarship: students applying for fall 2025 will receive a 20% scholarship

Students from certain countries may also be eligible for financial support from their home governments. 

 

 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION

To be admitted to the university of nicosia medical school, you'll need to submit the following documents: 

  • Application form: complete and submit the application form along with the non-refundable application fee 
  • Academic records: provide official transcripts of your high school diploma or bachelor's degree 
  • English language proficiency: provide evidence of your english language proficiency 
  • Passport: provide a photocopy of an attested passport that's valid for at least two years 
  • Police clearance certificate: provide a copy of an attested police clearance certificate 
  • Bank letter: provide a copy of an attested bank letter that states your sponsor's financial ability to support you 
  • Blood test report: provide a copy of an attested blood test report for hiv, syphilis, hepatitis b, and c 
  • Chest x-ray report: provide a copy of an attested chest x-ray report for tuberculosis 
  • Letters of reference: provide two letters of reference
