ADMISSION & ELIGIBILITY


To be eligible for admission to the University of Georgia, international students generally need to have a recognized secondary school diploma for undergraduate programs or a bachelor's degree for master's programs, and demonstrate English language proficiency through standardized tests like IELTS or TOEFL. Specific requirements may vary depending on the program and the student's country of origin. 

Specific Admission Requirements:

  • Undergraduate (UG):
    • Academic Qualifications: A recognized secondary school diploma. 
    • English Language Proficiency: IELTS or TOEFL scores may be required. 
  • Graduate (PG):
    • Academic Qualifications: A bachelor's degree. 
    • English Language Proficiency: IELTS or TOEFL scores may be required. 
    • GRE: Scores on the Verbal and Quantitative sections of the General Test of the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) are required for most graduate degrees. 
  • International Students:
    • English Language Proficiency: A minimum IELTS score of 6.5 is expected for undergraduate and graduate aspirants, with no single band lower than 6. The minimum TOEFL requirement is 80, with a score of 213 on the computer-based test or 550 on the paper-based test. 

Additional Notes:

  • Transfer Students:

To be considered for transfer admission, students need to have completed a certain number of transferable credit hours, graduated from high school at least 12 months prior to enrollment, and have a minimum GPA. 

  • Full-Time MBA:

Requires two years of professional work experience, a resume, letters of recommendation, transcripts, GMAT/GRE/Executive Assessment scores, essays, and an optional video essay. 

  • Country-Specific Requirements:

Scholarships for Medical Studies at UGA:

  • Graduate School Scholarships:
